About 9sense
9sense is a live weekly Satanic podcast hosted by Magister Campbell, a Magister in the Church of Satan, exploring Satanism, current events, and modern culture through a sharp third-side perspective. Founded in 2011 (XLVI A.S.), the show breaks down Satanic philosophy in real-world practice, cultural trends, media, and controversial topics with intelligence, humor, and unapologetic honesty. Now in its 15th year, 9sense streams live every Sunday night, offering long-form discussion for viewers who want independent thought, critical analysis, and authentic Satanic commentary—without dogma, censorship, or compromise.
About the Church of Satan
The Church of Satan, founded in 1966 by Anton Szandor LaVey, is the first openly established Satanic religion in history. It is an atheistic, rational philosophy that uses Satan as a symbol of individualism, personal sovereignty, pride, and the unapologetic acceptance of humanity’s carnal nature. Rejecting superstition, external gods, and imposed guilt, the Church of Satan emphasizes self-responsibility, reason, and the pursuit of one’s own interests in the real world. Far from myths of evil or chaos, Satanism is about living authentically, embracing pleasure without shame, and standing against hypocrisy, herd mentality, and authoritarian belief systems.

Discussion
1. The Devil’s Advocate

Everyone tells you to ‘Beware the Ides of March’ because they’re afraid of the knife in the dark. But for a Satanist, the Ides isn’t about the stabbing—it’s about the invoice. In Rome, this was the day your debts were called in. Tonight, we’re going to look at your personal ledger. Who owns you, and what are you going to do to settle the account before the moon sets?
- Settling the Satanic Ledger
- I. The Historical Hook: Beyond the Daggers
- In the Roman calendar, the Ides (from idus, meaning “to divide”) was the deadline for settling all debts and collecting interest. It was the original “Tax Day.”
- Julius Caesar didn’t just die because of a prophecy; he died because his political “debts”—his violations of the Republic’s social contract—were called in. The Senate was the collection agency.
- We focus too much on the betrayal (Et tu, Brute?) and not enough on the accountability. Caesar over-leveraged his power, and the Ides was the day the bill came due.
- II. The Philosophy: Debt as Bondage
- A Satanist strives to be a “self-owned” entity. Debt, whether to a bank, a toxic friend, or a political movement, creates a master-slave dynamic.
- the song Sixteen Tons (“I owe my soul to the company store”). Debt is a tool used to keep you from Vital Existence. If you owe, you are not free to indulge or achieve; you are working for someone else’s profit.
- While the “Right” preaches fiscal conservatism and the “Left” preaches debt forgiveness, the Satanist practices Debt Aversion. You don’t ask for forgiveness; you ensure you never need it.
- III. Social & Emotional Debt: The Outrage Ledger
- Modern culture uses “Outrage” as a form of social currency. People “borrow” opinions from influencers or political tribes, creating a social debt where they must constantly perform virtue to stay in the “black.”
- Social media is a giant ledger of “likes” and “shares.” You are “indebted” to your followers to keep being angry, or you lose your social status.
- Today is the day to “cancel” those debts. If you find yourself holding an opinion just because you “owe” it to your group, the Ides is the day to cut that tie.
- IV. Practical Application: How to Settle Your Ledger Today
- If debt is getting you down, leverage Satanic Magic, to adjust repayment through lesser magic, or manage your anxiety or stress through greater magic
- Look at your literal debts. What is the “interest” costing your freedom?
- Who in your life is a “bad loan”? Someone who takes your energy and never pays back in mutual admiration.
- What “masks” are you wearing because you feel you owe them to society?
- “Responsibility to the responsible.” By settling your debts, you regain your power.
- I. The Historical Hook: Beyond the Daggers
2. Infernal Informant

We’ve settled the psychological debts on our personal ledgers, but the world’s ledger is currently dripping in oil and ink. While the Strait of Hormuz is being choked by mines, the FCC is choking the airwaves with ‘guidance’ that looks a lot like a muzzle. Tonight’s Informant report is about the chokepoints—physical and digital—designed to keep you quiet while your tank goes empty.
- Chokepoints of the Empire
- I. The Physical Chokepoint: The Strait of Hormuz
- As of this morning, March 15, ship-tracking data shows a 90% reduction in traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Following the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and oil facilities on February 28, the IRGC has effectively closed the world’s most critical energy artery.
- Operation Epstein Fury
- Brent crude is hovering near $120/bbl, with experts warning of a surge to $200 if the mining of the Strait continues. This isn’t just “inflation”—it’s a global supply shock that dwarfs the 1970s crisis.
- While the masses panic at the gas pump, the Satanist looks at the vulnerability of dependencies. The world is held hostage by a 21-mile-wide strip of water. This is a lesson in the fragility of “Just-in-Time” existence. If you haven’t built a personal buffer, you are at the mercy of the geopolitical tides.
- II. The Digital Chokepoint: The FCC’s “Equal Time” Weapon
- The Guidance: Revisit the January 21, 2026, FCC Public Notice issued by Chairman Brendan Carr. It explicitly targets late-night and daytime talk shows, claiming that “partisan-motivated” programs no longer qualify for the “bona fide news” exemption.
- This is the evolution of the Jimmy Kimmel/ABC incident from September 2025. The FCC is now pressuring local affiliates—the Nexstars and Sinclairs of the world—by suggesting their licenses are at risk if they air “imbalanced” content.
- This is a “Consent Decree” culture. By hitting stations with fines (like the recent $6,000 fine for an Arizona station’s paperwork errors), the Bureau signals that they are watching everything. It’s a “death by a thousand cuts” for dissent.
- III. Synthesis: The Squeeze
- Why do these two things matter together? Because when the Strait of Hormuz causes an economic collapse, the government needs a silent media.
- The “Left” calls this fascism; the “Right” calls it “public interest” and “fairness.” The Satanist calls it The Management of the Herd. When the bread and circuses (circuses like Jimmy Kimmel) become a liability during a fuel shortage, the state tightens the leash on the broadcasters.
- For the listener, the message is clear: Secure your own infrastructure. If you rely on “free” airwaves or “just-in-time” fuel, you are a subject, not a sovereign. The 15th anniversary of 9sense is proof of the power of Independent Media—airwaves the FCC doesn’t own.
- I. The Physical Chokepoint: The Strait of Hormuz
3. Creature Feature

So, I’ve closed the final page on Middle-earth, and I didn’t find a fairy tale—I found a bestiary of psychological horrors. From the Nameless Things gnawing the roots of the world to the Nazgûl hollowing out the souls of men, Tolkien reminds us that the greatest monsters aren’t the ones with claws, but the ones that demand you surrender your ‘self.’ And on that note… stay sovereign, stay carnal, and keep your daggers sharp.
- Tolkien’s Literary Terrors
- I. The “Nameless Things” (The Cosmic Horror of Moria)
- In The Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf describes things deep beneath the earth that “gnaw the world,” things that even Sauron does not know.
- This is Tolkien’s nod to Lovecraftian Horror. It suggests that the “Satanic” or “Evil” forces in the books (Sauron/Saruman) are actually quite small and orderly compared to the raw, mindless hunger of the deep earth.
- Recognition of a nature that is indifferent to human morality. These things aren’t “evil”—they are simply Vital Existence at its most primordial and terrifying.
- II. The Nazgûl: The Horror of Non-Existence
- The Witch-king of Angmar at the gates of Minas Tirith isn’t just a guy in a cloak; he is a “void” with eyes of fire.
- The Ringwraiths represent the ultimate horror of submission. They have no will of their own; they are extensions of a master. To a Satanist, this is the most “monstrous” state possible—the total loss of the “I” (the ego).
- This is a psychic biological weapon. It isn’t a spell; it’s a despair so heavy it causes the body to shut down. It is the physical manifestation of nihilism.
- The ideal target for a Psychic Vampire
- III. Shelob: The Predator Absolute
- In The Two Towers, Shelob is described as having “many eyes” that don’t just see, but lust for life.
- Unlike the movie’s “big spider,” the book emphasizes her ancient hunger. She doesn’t care about the One Ring or Sauron’s wars. She is a solitary predator.
- She is the perfect “Creature Feature” monster because she represents Purity of Purpose. She eats, she sleeps, she protects her lair. There is no pretense of “Greater Good” or “Noble Cause.” She is the carnal made manifest.
- IV. The Verdict: The “Rez Gothic” of Middle-earth
- Tie this back to your previous discussion on Stephen Graham Jones (the “Rez Gothic” style). Tolkien’s world is a landscape of trauma where the “monsters” are often the ghosts of previous ages.
- We read these books for the “High Fantasy,” but we remember them for the dread. The trilogy is a journey through a world that is actively trying to consume you, and the only way out is through sheer, disciplined will.
- I. The “Nameless Things” (The Cosmic Horror of Moria)
