Game Setup
Last time on Tomb of Demara: The heroes followed a herald looking for adventures to meet with the high Wizard Nethril. They were paid 100gp each to seek out his apprentice, the elven lord Taran Goldenstar and the Orb of Dragonkind. 20 years ago the evil ogre Bonegnasher attacked the castle with his orcs. He wants the orb, but the wizard hid it somewhere in the castle. The ogre has been hunting for it ever since. The heroes agree to seek out Taran and the orb and find themselves outside Demara’s ruined castle. They begin their search running into gnolls and a lizard shaman before finding Taran in a cell being tortured and questioned by hobgoblins. They narrowly defeat the hobgoblins and rescue Taran, but their losses are great. They return to town to heal up and Nethril offers them another hundred gold to go back and claim the orb. They return to discover the treasure room and use magic to open the locked door. Inside is a fearsome Carrion Crawler which they dispatch effortlessly. They discover gold and magical items with a renewed sense of hope. They may find this orb after all.
