About DireLands Fantasy Campaign Setting
DireLands is a system agnostic, dark fantasy tabletop roleplaying campaign setting. It was created by Adam P. Campbell in 2024. DireLands is set in a land that is in the final century of an ice age that saw the rise of the Witch-Queen who subjugated the three realms’ populations and cast out the demi-human races. The Triumvirate rose in the last century and liberated two of the three nations, but after their victory, they have become corrupt themselves.

Intro
Welcome to this continuation of my DireLands system agnostic, dark fantasy campaign setting episode! My name is Adam and in this episode I will be outlining the DireLands Fantasy Campaign Setting adventures and campaigns.

Campaigns
War on the Witch Queen
This is a historical epoch campaign about the overthrow of the Witch-Queen and her Gaullix.
The Coming Cosmic Invasion
This is the modern epoch campaign about secret societies vying for power and summoning beings from other dimensions.
Adventures
Stop the Spread
The Wildlands are spreading in this Caelia based adventure. The heroes will need to ingratiate themselves with the locals, venture into the wildlands, and communicate with the fey therein to discover the cause of the spread, and stop it.
Act One
Fire-Fist of the Kahutehe tribe sends out a call for help, the local wildlife and trade routes are closed off due to the wildlands insurgence. Reward: freedom, item of renown, promise of aid, or the Bridle of Ju-ghuan.
PC Hooks

- They are slaves looking for freedom

PC’s travel to Caelia and address the chief. Feats of strength, intellect or spirit.
- Physical: Jousting – brawling
- Mental: Tracking during day and night – Retrieve information.
- Spiritual: hallucinogenic drug/vision quest – face trauma from their past
Act Two
Reveal of the toxin, expands the borders erratically, and poisons the denizens of the wildlands.
Find a being of the wildlands, subdue them, learn from them. Ramp up the danger is they approach with aggression.
Locating a source of infiltration through environmental, creature adversity and fauna challenges.
Discovery leads to truth, cosmic forces invade. You see one.
Act Three
Figure out how to close off the entry to the cosmic beings.
Options to stop the beings: Enlist local creatures. Open the spiritual pathway to create a barrier. Close portal through arcane location/alignment.
Provide evidence of its closure. Get rewarded. Learn a seed of information.
Implements of War
In this adventure the heroes need to venture deep into Locaston and bring back blueprints of the Gaulix’s new war machines. If a weakness isn’t discovered before they are brought to bear against Bressus, it may be the end of a nation.
Traitor Amongst Us
The Scientific Society of Triniius in Bressus has a spy, feeding information to the Gaullix. The heroes must locate the spy which reveals a much deeper corruption in the hierarchy of the Triumvirate.
