Game Setup

Last time on Stop the Spread: The party is given opportunities to test themselves. Itish battles a warrior through wrestling, Aelyn and tree share a drug infused vision with Drown-in-Tears, the Kahutehe tribal shaman, which reveals a name and its growing connection between the defeated Mearanach (men-a-nach), the Witch-Queen, and the wildlands and its inhabitants. Aelyn is connected to the entity now and pulled to it. Trebor is forced to track down escaped slaves with the tribe and deal out punishment. Whipping them or killing them. He chooses mercy and is forced to do it himself. This culminates in tree pouring fire ants on Trebor to stop him, and the party passing the trials the tribe had for them. With tree knowing the Kahutehe tribe is acting strange, and Trebor wondering why the tribe doesn’t take care of the spreading Fuaverum wildlands themselves, he seeks out Fire-Fist the tribal chief. He is told that they lost nearly half of their tribe in an attempt which drove Drown-in-Tears to seek a vision. He was told of a prophecy about wanderers from the east who would arrive and purify the Fuaverum. This prompted the tests to ensure they were capable of entering the wildlands and confronting the source of the poison, not knowing who or what it is. tree shares her frustration by forcing her memories into Trebor’s mind which nearly breaks him, and they all are resigned to their fate, even if it ends in death. They enter the Fuaverum only to see that it truly is poisoned, the trees and life here are hurt, and a spirit couatl attacks them in pain. They defeat it and travel deeper into the forest, seeing many strange spirits on the fringes of their vision and a Dryad who watches from a distance. Aalyn is drawn by some unknown force and they all follow, only to be led into the path of a carnivorous plant. After confronting it, the Dryad makes herself known, and tells them they do not belong here. They demand answers as a panther attacks. They are aided by the Dryad who, after seeing their reluctance to destroy the poisoned beast, decides to speak with them. 

About DireLands Fantasy Campaign Setting

DireLands is a system agnostic, dark fantasy tabletop roleplaying campaign setting. It was created by Adam P. Campbell in 2024. DireLands is set in a land that is in the final century of an ice age that saw the rise of the Witch-Queen who subjugated the three realms’ populations and cast out the demi-human races. The Triumvirate rose in the last century and liberated two of the three nations, but after their victory, they have become corrupt themselves.
