On my highest holiday, I took the day off, packed my backpack and drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to the Brighton Lakes Trailhead. It was over 6 miles till I returned to the car, but I experienced some genuine beauty. Lake Mary was massive and majestic, Lake Martha was subdued and diminished in comparison, and Lake Catherine was secluded, nestled between peaks. The hike of 2k ft in elevation was intense at times, but crossing the ridge to Mount Wolverine from Mount Tuscarora was pretty exciting. I recorded a Daily Thought Vlog, but I think I will keep that experience to myself and instead share the photos with those of you who may be interested.
