This morning my wife and I took our dogs up Milcreek Canyon to hike (with crampons) Church Creek to Pipeline Overlook trail. It’s a 6.4 mile out and back moderate trail, but with the snow conditions, it made it a bit more challenging.
The sun was out, and soon we were removing layers, only to be reminded that we can get sunburnt, in the dead of winter, by the intense reflections off the snow. We were not prepared, but the rays were delightful!
There is something truly wonderful and heartwarming about getting into the mountains, feeling sunshine on your skin, and breathing clean air. Today is a good day!
