The trail head was completely filled and the parked cars extended a mile out. We had driven an hour to get to the trail head, so another two miles (out and back) was a small price to pay when we were already planning on the 4 mile hike in. This is one of my favorite hikes because it is mild and usually quiet. Today there were so many people, I ended up talking to strangers, directing them to different lakes in the Uintas more than engaging with my family during the hike.
All in all, it was still worth it, and if I’m being honest, as long as I’m surrounded by wilderness with my family near me, I’m happy.
