  • What is the definition of Queer?
  • What is Queer Theory?

    • The term “queer theory” itself came from Teresa  de Lauretis’ 1991 work in the feminist cultural studies journal differences titled “Queer Theory: Lesbian and Gay Sexualities.”
    • there are at least three interrelated projects at play within this theory:
      • refusing heterosexuality as the benchmark for sexual formations,
      • a challenge to the belief that lesbian and gay studies is one single entity,
      • and a strong focus on the multiple ways that race shapes sexual bias.
  • How can it apply to The Satanic Witch?
  • Manipulation is always discussed between the two genders and assumed cis, the book is often quoted to reinforce those arguments yet, I think they are picking out their particular trees before looking at the rest and missing the forest.
  • I’m eager to work on an episode that discusses LaVey’s ideas in the Satanic Witch for men and queers, no matter trans or cis-gays, bring it outs application.
  • Most of the Doktor’s observations on homosexuals and transexuals are based on his hetero observations. Is this accurate?
    • As LaVey was cis and a heterosexual, it would make sense that he would look at those trans and gay people he observed through that lens. But, he was building a system of manipulation based on types and useful rules of thumbs rather than arguing all are this way or that.

        • A culture argument rather than a statement of fact. Much of The Satanic Witch discusses perceptions and the manipulation of them.
      • All types, however, have their respective homosexual counterparts.
      • Twelve woman and a six man are ideally suited for sexual interchange and often transexuals.

      • As in much of the book, LaVey’s tactics depend on gender fetishes in Western culture. This is also argued in Queer Theory, that many things we’re attracted to are because they represent the qualities showcasing our genitals. Perhaps this is also why many cis-heteros and cis-homos get more angry with transmen and transwomen.

      • Men being primarily voyeuristic animals, per LaVey, would explain the sluttty dressing in Queer Culture.
