- Dear Adam, I work with what I consider a psychic vampire. He was assigned as a mentor but we are in same position , he’s not a boss. He doesn’t ask me to do favors but takes up a lot of my time allotted for prospecting clients by giving advice and constantly gives his opinion about my work. On the surface it appears he’s mentoring. I’ve thanked him for the feedback and try to end the conversation to go about my work but he continues. I’ve asked him to back off yet he continues. He’s said things about my husband and I relationship ( that my husband’s female coworker will come on to him ) , he’s implied that a coworker I’m friendly with was trying to steal my client . When I disagreed with his advice he said he was wasting HIS time with me and I alerted management and little was done about it. I’m worried that if I’m aggressive and tell this guy to fuck off I’ll get in trouble I have no desire or reason to change jobs because of him. How do I professionally and calmly get this guy off my back ?Feel free to tell me of an experience you’ve had with an ahole coworker.
