• Dear Adam,
  
  I wanted to inquire as to your interest in something that I have for several months now been indulging myself in and I feel would be of note and interest to those who share like minded curiosities but have not or do not have the means or faculties to do so themselves.
  
  We often read, hear and speak of the hypocrisy, insanity and hilarious proclamations made by those who have considered it their life’s greatest achievement to bow down and hand over every scrap of dignity and responsibility to a “higher being”. Whether this is a God or Goddess, Jesus, Jehovah or Mother Earth, they all believe in something of supernatural origin and with a will and mind that cares about them. But I feel that for myself, I was rather ignorant of the exact instances, scriptures, verses and dogma of which I speak when talking or debating with a believer. While I know Jesus (supposedly) was not the peaceful, loving avatar of mercy that everyone says he is, I never could recite (before now) that in Luke 12 (chapter) 49 (verse) that he speaks not of peace but fire on earth and that he came to divide families and that he did not come down to bring peace, but violent division.
  
  Now, usually for those of us who reside in the United States of America this takes the form, in one stripe or another, of Christianity. This is where I began my adventure. I have attended several sermons and studies now from local Churches in a desire to not only experience the environment that is being promulgated to the congregations, but more importantly to listen, record, research and review the sermons and lessons being presented by current day clergy.
  
  My reviews are of the entire service, from arrival to end and the first couple I chose to attend with friendly acquaintances, requesting to join them at their places of worship so that I might “broaden my perspective”. I include the verse, book (if editions change) and relation inferred by the pastor or speaker, as well as my own reflection afterward during the construction of the review. I do my best not to rant and rave, calling to be culled every word said, but simply to inform and present for consideration to others the words as they were offered to me. I also throw in my own dark brand of inappropriate and blasphemous humor as parts allow.
  
  I find it incredibly entertaining and worthwhile to Know Your Enemy, and being A Goat Amongst Them is an interesting experience. I cannot be the only Satanist to have thought of mingling in with the flock and hearing what they have to say. It is important to have a proper perspective based upon experience, logic and direct interaction with something you decry.
  
  Some people, like you have already experienced full tilt the pronouncements, prejudices and convictions of growing up in an atmosphere of belief. You already know of what you speak from the actions of those who were closest to you. I think what I present and recant has merit and worth to our kind who, while accurate in their denouncements, have no subjective basis to stand on. I do not advocate riding on the coat-tails of others, no matter how sound their positions may be. Satanism (read: life) requires study, not worship. And this should come to include that which you offer to be negative, as well as the positive that you find worthy to support.
