A Satanist is ——— in control.
A Satanist is ———————-.
A Satanist is always trying to control their mind. life. reality.
We are never fully in control of ourselves. It is something we strive for. You strive for it, because it is ultimately unattainable. The universe is indifferent to our desires, so we have to continually struggle and overcome those obstacles that are put in front of us whether they are physical, social, mental or universally random.
I suffer from periodic depression. It’s only a handful of times a year, and I don’t know what triggers it. In one moment I am all well and good, then I feel like I am hit by a tsunami and being dragged under the tide. This happens less the older i get, but I am always aware that it is there, just around the corner. I have come up with ways to cope with it when I am swept away. I drive to the Salt Lake Cemetery and visit old friends. I lock myself away in a room and listen to music. I sit outside and watch the wind play with the trees. It doesn’t usually last more than an hour, then I come back to the surface and move on about my life. I do everything I can to prevent it from affecting anyone else as this is my problem, not theirs.
Not everyone is so fortunate to have effective coping mechanisms, and many Satanists aren’t fortunate enough to have options outside medication or rehabilitation. Some Satanists aren’t afflicted with an emotional issue but rather a physical one. Some have lived masterful lives then suddenly they are in a position of dependence on others for their daily routines, medication, safety… sanity.
Are they less than any other Satanist?
Satanism is a deeply personal religion that tells you life is very short, so enjoy the hell out of it! Indulge in the carnal, express command over your own life! Take responsibility for your actions, and be the ultimate version of yourself, your own god!
Your version of success, happiness and command is as individual as you are. It will be informed by the culture and society you were raised. It will be tempered by your own physical and emotional capacities. Do not ever compare yourself to others, unless there is something you admire and can see being developed within yourself.
I am NOT going to say limitations that you have and overcome make you stronger, they don’t. Equally, if you cannot overcome your limitations, it doesn’t make you weak. We must deal with the genetics our parents gave us and the atmosphere we were born. You may never be as in-command as you want to be in life, but never stop trying to be. That struggle is life. That is what you are supposed to own. That is what it means to be a Satanist!
Hail Satan!
