Speak of the Devil presents Third Side Perspectives: Cannabis Legalization with Darren Deicide and Ethel Lynn Oxide. Cannabis legalization is a growing trend worldwide, but it does face resistance regionally, including federally in the United States of America. For a country that prides itself in her ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ motto, she sure does love to regulate what you take in. We are going to discuss the history of marijuana prohibition, the realities and results of it, and it’s potential after legalization.

Opening Monologue
I would like to start by addressing the slight change in branding. Third Side Intelligence is a reference to the Doktor’s essay Third Side Intelligence: The Uncomfortable Alternative from his essay collection Satan Speaks! The Church of Satan created a news feed under the same name where members present their individual commentary on current events, media, politics, and culture. When I began the Speak of the Devil presents Third Side Intelligence video podcast series, I had reached out to Administration for permission to use the name and present Satanists third side perspectives in a video format to be shared on that very news feed.
Recently there has been a change in policy which made the use of the name Third Side Intelligence in a video format pointless, as video discussion content will no longer be shared to the Church of Satan’s news feed, let alone the Third Side Intelligence feed. Administration has issued this statement, or will soon as of this broadcast:
“I value the diversity of the intelligent discussions on the podcasts that our creative members continue to create, but in this age of social media herd-think, there is a vocal part of the listening audience that refuses to grasp that differences of opinion are encouraged by our philosophy, whether one shares those perspectives or not.
People then ascribe what they feel is contrary to their beliefs as being officially the Church of Satan position, and ignore other discussed concepts that they might embrace. Thus, our organization is a scapegoat for what they find offensive, regardless of their position on the spectrum from left to right. They refuse to grasp that there can be a broad means for the application of Satanic principles in the lives of our thousands of members which suit their unique values and pursuits.
May that change in the near future so that we may restore these intelligent discussions to our news feeds.”
Because of this I dropped the feed’s name and changed it to what it has literally been the entire time, Third Side Perspectives. The format is the exact same, so if you loved or hated the show, you may continue to do so under the new name Speak of the Devil presents Third Side Perspectives.
Now that is out of the way, what else had been going on? Anything interesting? Let’s see, there’s the U.S. government shutdown with about 380,000 federal employees on furlough and 420,000 working without pay. President Trump just signed an executive order yesterday, freezing federal workers pay for 2019, cancelling their scheduled 2.1% pay raise. The House’s probe of FBI & DOJ’s alleged anti Trump, pro-Clinton bias has ended, without any report… The whole Hillary Clinton email scandal, just like Benghazi investigations has proven to be nothing more than a failed Republican tactic to punish their political enemies. The Trump Administration is continuing to terrorize our environment by outright removing and proposing the removal of Obama Era environmental protections. Like the Mercury and Air Toxins Standards rule which was an $18 billion smokestacks clean up of coal fired power plants. I suppose mercury caused brain damage, learning disabilities and birth defects to name a few are fake news too…
But were not here to discuss the decline of America and her environment directly, no we’re here to talk about cannabis. Now, I want you all to be adults about this. We aren’t hippies trying to get you high, we are Satanists with fact based evidence on what cannabis is, why it was made illegal and why its prohibition should end. I have a long history with cannabis, from my best friend in high school getting me high for the first time, to friends being nearly incarcerated for growing it. Speaking of which:
Our guests this afternoon were former cannabis growers in the state of New Jersey. On March 4th, 2017 they were arrested during a warrantless search that resulted in the attempted indictment of 7 felony counts, including 2 first-degree felonies, all related to growing cannabis. After crowdfunding their legal expenses, they were able to mount a sophisticated defense and all charges were dropped on October 26, 2018.
